Bridgeport
Bridgeport, Washington is located in Douglas County along the Columbia River. There are about 2,423 people living in Bridgeport and approximately 76% Hispanic or Latino. Bridgeport is home to the Chief Joseph Dam, which is the second largest hydroelectric power dam in the United States, and is surrounded by apple and cherry orchards. A few local places to visit are the the fish hatchery at the Chief Joseph Dam, beautiful tree carvings that line Foster Creek Avenue, and a delicious local food truck. Nearby destinations include the towns of Brewster, Chelan, or even the Grand Coulee Dam!
Throughout the week our team visited the Bridgeport Middle and High Schools to give college readiness talks to the students. The team also attended a Middle School Track meet as well as a 5th grade music class at Bridgeport Elementary School.
